  • "When you want to jump in the water and learn to kite surf, do it in Corpus Christi w/ Third Coast Kite Surfing. They have an awesome spot where the water is about 18 inches deep, and the wind is very consistent. This makes it VERY easy to learn to launch the kite as well as to get up on the board. Having a certified instructor that has been doing this for 8 or 9 years, makes a BIG difference!. (Just because someone knows how to kite surf doesn't mean they know how to teach you). I've tried other locations where I waited many days for a windy days, or where the water was deep and I had to drink half the ocean learning to get up on the board. This is the ideal spot where you get up and get going on the board and skip all of those frustrations, plus you typically don't need a wetsuit."
